Recently a large satellite gear in myrear diff broke when 1 tooth wore flat and a tooth diagonally opposite that one broke off, or one broke off and the one diagonally opposite wore flat. I got this fixed and had the diff professionally torqued etcetera. Last week after driving no more than 400 km with the repaired diff a small satellite gear shattered and I am just trying to understand what could of caused this? There was sufficient and correct oil in the diff which had turned green (Springbok Rugby shirt green) which I can only put down to the oil attacking the brass spacers in the diff. I have not yet striped the diff to examine the spacers. Here is a photo of the large satellite gear that broke few months ago Here is a photo of the 2 parts of the small gear that were in the housing. Tjeers Steve

Bad news. Did you replace all 4 last time round? and had the crown and pinion gears measured?

steve, where do you have brass spacers in your diff? Between the large satelite gear and the housing as supplied by Pavel, they may be copper, not sure. Tjeers Steve

Yes, the correct size spacers were used to set it properly as per manual.
