Good Evening Guys. Latest update from Pavel as to the parts for the various gaskets and seals needed to carry out the 'Full Monty' installation of the Automatic Timing Chain Adjuster. Hope you all have a great evening: I'm off now to 'chop down' some lettuce for tonight's dinner. Regards to all at LOCSA, Keith and CERATOTH.

Oil seals not included in Engine Gasket Kit. Here is front oil seal for all NIva - Lada Niva Crankshaft Oil Seal Front Victor Reinz

Hello, I would also be interested in doing the upgrade, I have a 2001 1.7 carb Lada. However I do not have any parts yet so how much would it cost me to do the full improvement?

Hi Foosh, you seem to have the same set up need as me. ie Auto Tensioner, shoe, damper and gaskets and oil seal As soon as all the info is collected (and with Ihar's offered help), I should be able to let everybody know what their likely costs will be including a share of the cost of carriage etc. to South Africa. You can then decide if you want to go ahead and if yes I can order everybodies needed parts, including yours, from Lada Power. The cost of getting the parts to you will then depend upon where in SA they will be going to. At the moment it's just a case of 'watch this space'. Regards Keith and CERATOTH

piece of advice: replace the 1600 damper by a 1700 TBI one. it fits perfect and lasts a lot longer Thanks Jan! I take it you agree that it is advisable to replace used/very used/condition unknown damper and tensioners and to be on the safe side replace the gaskets and seal as I indicated? Please advise bearing in mind that all our nivas are at least 10yrs + thats indeed advisable

Hi Anton and others. And so the interest mounts Between myself and Steve (Ihar) we should soon be able to give you guys a shopping and price list to choose from. Please be a little patient with me (old and crumbly and useless on the computer) and Steve (much, much younger and fully computer literate) but nursing a very damaged knee (not certain if it's right or left). Final thought as to costs...once the parcel reaches South Africa it may be subject to Customs Duty and /or VAT. I say 'may be' because sometimes there isn't a charge and other times there is...go figure. So you are looking at cost of parts in US$ converted into Rands, cost of shipping in US$ converted into Rands, Customs / VAT in Rands (perhaps) and cost of shipping internal to SA in Rands unless you can collect from me in Gauteng. As to the 'split' for the shipping costs the simplest way would be just to divide the costs by the number of people placing orders. There are however other options eg based on individual order weight, cost of ordered parts and perhaps others ? Your thoughts on this would be much appreciated. My services (poor as they are) come with no charge...who said nothing in life is free Regards to all at LOCSA, Keith and CERATOTH. CERATOTH has however been a very naughty 'Rhino' and chewed up a fan belt on the way to OR Tambo this morning. Now in the garage about to be severely chastised with a rachet spanner

CERATOTH has however been a very naughty 'Rhino' and chewed up a fan belt on the way to OR Tambo this morning. Now in the garage about to be severely chastised with a rachet spanner Just as a matter of interest, having had Sharkie for 2 years and not replacing the fan belt, I replaced it shortly before my mishap and discovered it had stretched about 5cm over its life. Hi Guys. It's been a bit hectic for one reason or another here at 'Chateau Atkins' so I shall only be able to sort out the prices for the parts over this coming weekend. I shall post them as soon as I've finished collating them and had them checked by Lada Power. Enjoy the weekend, stay safe and have fun in your Ladas. Regards to all at Locsa and a special thanks to Steve (Ihar) for his help. Keith and CERATOTH

As some people have pm'd Keith requesting additional parts, we have decided that the Ukraine portion of the postage will be split by weight of the items you order. Thus if your order weighs 2kg and everyone else's weighs 1kg you will end up paying double the postage that everyone else would pay. When ordering parts not in the table above please post the exact part numbers from Lada Powers Web site in your order post. We will not be held responsible for you providing the incorrect part number or for us having to guess at the part numbers. Only orders in this thread will be ordered.

Hi Guys... and good news. I had Pavel check on part numbers and prices before putting together our orders and he has just told me that the timing chain cover gasket is only 1 US$ (not the 8 US$ originaly shown). I will start collating 'final' paperwork early next week and double check with you all as to your order before I send it off. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday. Keith and CERATOTH
