Good Evening Guys from a warm but windy Johannesburg. When I first got CERATOTH (about 10 years ago) the first thing that had to be replaced was a broken (original) windscreen washer bottle. I was extremely lucky in that a local car salvage dealer had just what I needed. It was labeled as "Land Rover" had no identifing marks on it but was large and needed only a minor modification to the existing bracket to make it fit. All was well until last friday when my alternator packed up. Went to a "reputable and recommended" auto eletrician near to me and awaited the return of a fully functioning CERATOTH. When the car was returned on wednesday the alternator still did not work, there was no water in the radiator and the effects of a soldering iron on plastic were to be clearly seen on the windscreen washer bottle...think colander ! I have visited (again) the local salvage dealers with no luck for a suitable replacement (where do all the missing filler caps go to ? ) and despite the best efforts of a very helpful Land Rover dealer have not been able to identify which Land Rover (if it is actually from one) model applies. So the questions are... If I can post pictures of the washer bottle on the site can anybody identify which model/make of car it comes from ? The size is 20cms tall by 22 cms wide by 12 cms deep. Or can anybody suggest a suitable replacement which I can get new from a local dealer ? As always...Thanks Guys and regards to all at LOCSA. Keith and CERATOTH OK Guys neither Flikr nor Photobucket seem to want to work for me at the moment. I will keep trying and hopefully you will see my "talented" photography shortly

OK Guys...Help. I've got the photographs down loaded onto Photobucket. Where on the LOCSA site do I find 'the idiots guide' for putting them onto the LOCSA site ? Please bring back the attachments option... I could make that work ! Thanks and regards, Keith and CERATOTH.

Thanks again Spikes Off to the Land Rover dealer this morning to see if they can still order the Series 111 bottle for me. If not... any ideas Guys as to what would be a 'good' alternative bottle to fit ? Regards to all at LOCSA, Keith and CERATOTH

Good Afternoon Guys. I have just realised that this posting would have been better under "Spare Parts". Moderators...please feel free to correct my mistake and move the thread. Regards to all at LOCSA and looking forward to the Lion Park event :-) Keith and CERATOTH

Hi Keith
Looking at the pictures again it could also be from the 1st Land rover discoveries. Perhaps Hercules can advise?

The first discovery washer bottle was much bigger then the one in the photo. The washer bottle in the photo does not look familiar. I got a golf washer bottle fitted in my Lada and freely awailable at spare shops and scrap yards. Midas also got a universal bottle at a very good price and come complete with a pump, pipes and nossles.
Regards
Hercules

The bottle at Midas is Auto Gear part no CL203. Description is Electric Windshield Washer and come complete with connection kit. The kit is 12volt universal type. I think it should be available at Autozone also.
Regards.

Hi Guys. Thanks Hercules for those part numbers. I tried both my local Midas and Autozone stores for 'universal washer kits' and they both said that they didn't have anything ! I shall go there on Monday and give them the good news that they do sell such things I also bet that this will be a much cheaper option than a 'new' Land Rover bottle. Thanks again Guys for all the help and advice. See you at the Lion Park ! Keith and CERATOTH.

Hi Keith
Pity you couldn't get hold of the universal one. The downside is that it only take 1.5 liters but the small size gives you plenty more working space which is a huge plus. Hope you find one soon.

I'm also out of a water bottle. My first one cracked or leaked after a year. Then I bought another one in Samara when I was there. It lasted a few years but is also now leaking. I'm of to Midas on Monday to look at the Universal one. Thanks Hercules, this is the kind of thing that makes this forum special.

Hi
Thinking about it, I have a universal one that I stripped out of Dodgy, let me check that it works and then I will offer it for sale, preferably for collection as the last plastic container I shipped via courier cracked in shipping.

Hi Keith & Christiaan,
Not all Midas outlets stock the universal washers bottle kit. Not one of the 4 in Nelspruit had stock. Hazyview had and White River when I replaced Bongol's bottle. Hazyview reported 3l unit as well but had to order.
The 1.5l is easy straight forward fit onto the existing bracket
Autozone does not stock the item.

Thanks again Spikes. No luck at Land Rover as those washer bottles for the Series 111 are no longer available. Midas have no Auto Gear washer kits in Johannesburg...No demand ! They are getting me one from Cape Town which should be here on Thursday/Friday. In the meanwhile I have fitted a bottle from a Ford Falcon which should be OK (?) until the kit arrives.

At the pace cars are being written off, spares are probably not an issue in JHB Glad you are finally sorted out. Spikes

Hi Guys. Just to let you know that I collected the Auto Gear water bottle yesterday. It will work perfectly in the space available and looks to be very well made and was great value at ZAR 165. I will 'run ' with the Ford bottle for the time being (too lazy to take it out) but I now have a "spare" :-) Thanks Hercules for all of the info which meant that I could get it from my local Midas. Regards to all at LOCSA, Keith and CERATOTH
