Hi I am new to this forum, and need some help. I bought a Lada about a month back, and am very impressed with it, the problem is that it came with 15 inch rims with a offset that is way out, the wheel actually protrude beyond the sides of the car, so I have to change them. My question is this should I get the Lada 16 inch rims as it seems a problem to find tires for them and when you do they are expensive, or try and find 15 inch rims which are compatible and then be able to fit cheaper tires.
What do most Lada owners do?

My advice would be to fit the original 16" rims . A batch of 30 odd 16" tyres are on their way to the supplier now. See Marius's post in the Nankang Tyre import thread.
The old Kia Sportage rims are also a very good fit(the very first Sportages with spare on the tail gate)

Hi Skallywag, I recently fitted original 16" wheels with tyres that I got from Marius. The 15" rims are for sale - locsa.proboards.com/thread/1790/15-rims-saleIn my opinion, the 16" wheels give a better drive though. Also, 15" tyres will cost about the same as 16" tyres, I think. Douw

Hi Skallywag
I personally prefer the original 16" rims but you have no choice of tyres, only the ones Marius struggled for so long to organize. My choice would therefore need to be a set of 15" sidekick rims, where you have a small choice of tyres. Just watch you do not go too wide with the tyres or the steering will be heavy and it will not help the life of the steering box. Right hand drive steering boxes are very hard to source.

How difficult is it to find sidekick rims I like the Idea of the 195-15 inch tires can get the anywhere.

I agree if you can find a set of 15" rims it will be far easier and cheaper in the long run.

I have bought Dylans 15 inch Rims and Tires from Port Elizabeth, The tires are a bit small 195/70X15 but I will live with them for the time been. But the Lada seems much happier with them, compared to the old ones
