Steve. I want to build a standard lada with narrow wheels and only fit a 1.6i or 1.8i opel 8v motor to a new lada gearbox. Needs to run nicely at 120 and to do 12 km/l+ and tats all I need.

Have found a Merc G wagon for a good price. Have funds to raise so wont be looking for Lada any time soon. Thanks to all that responded. Regards Ruan

Spikes u hit the nail on the head. The two diff locks are not working but I think they just need some bleeding. They have not been used in over 10 years so maybe I will get away with it. I still think a Lada with a rear diff lock will run with the G wagons. Regards Ruan
