Hi,
The front is definitely 13" as I've just replaced mine. I'm not 100% sure about the rear but I think it's 11"

Hi Sparky
The front wiper motor is not exactly endowed with an excess of power so the shorter the blade the better. Not sure what length the original was.

Hi, CERATOTH has 13'' in front and 10" in back. Work fine except when screen is dry then they struggle in the front..... (OK I know who.... uses wipers when the screen is dry !) Regards to all at LOCSA, Keith and CERATOTH.

Hi
I still have the original size wipers but I did replace the tiny front ones with a rear set. The original front wipers measures 28cm which is 11". The original rear wiper measures 33.5cm which is 13". The actual blades measures fractionally less.
I can also add that SO FAR the motor has been doing its job for years now despite the slightly larger blades at the front.

Hi Marius
Mine had 13" when I bought it and the motor did struggle when the screen was dry. I bent the arms very slightly to reduce the pressure on the blades and this helped. If the motor struggles the best solution is to fit slightly shorter blades.

Hi Ronnie I tend not to use my wipers on a dry screen but on the the few occasions, I did not notice that the motor struggled apart from the usual screeching noise. What I do know is that I need to replace mine soon! Marius

Hi Marius
If I remember correctly, the Defender has a similar problem if you fit longer blades, so it is not confined to the Niva. I have just fitted a new Bosch blade to the back of my Peugeot for the second time in 3 months so I hope the quality in SA is better than here. The new one I fitted has split for about one third of it`s length. I don`t know where they are now made, perhaps China?.

The 10" blades may be ok for vertically challenged drivers. If you are over 6' 0" you cannot see driving in rain with the short blades. First thing that I changed was to fit 13" blades Spikes

So..... what is so funny about being over 60 ;-) Now that I'm over 65 I can get my teeth (the few that I've got left) fixed at a discount rate from my dentist :-) :-) Regards to all at LOCSA. Keith and (a not so old) CERATOTH

I run 14" in front and then they clean right to the top rubber.

The factory Niva wipers are 13" for windscreen and 11" for the rear glass.
Reducing 13" to less ones do not clean properly the window; increasing them more make your wiper motor to struggle and vulnerable to damages. Usually I keep them 13" or replace them with 14" but only with top brands, mainly Champion.
The rear one may stay 11".
I've seen Nivas even with 18" blades; so ridiculous - the wipers go over the windscreen rubber seal.
