I guess it might be worthwhile to compare a copy of the pic (Cressida steering box) with a Cressida box at a scrap yard, and to compare the mounting holes of a Lada steering box with the mounting holes of a Cressida box at the scrap yard as well. Apparently only one hole is different.
Or one could try and find out what models of Cressidas get / have been sold in New Zeeland.

The steering box here on discussion is the very first Cressida models sold in South Africa. The second and third generation Cressidas used a rack and pinion steering unit. Maybe some of the older Hilux models will have the same or similar steering box. Worth some look into that.
