Hi Steve
Sounds like you guys want to take on Magalies. I can't say for sure but that is near my mothers 87th birthday so we will have to wait and see.

Bring you gas braais and beers, you gonna need them.
Route is straight forward with a bit of shale towards the end.
Confirmed 12 Niva's with 2 months to go, so get ready to be part of history. I expect the final number to be closer to 20 as a few regulars have yet to confirm.

Thanks Steve (again for organising!) In the diary....all I have to do now is buy a braai. I suppose that after 12 years in SA it's about time that I did ! Regards to all at LOCSA. Keith and CERATOTH.

Keith, I am sure there will be enough of them around that day, maybe pack extra beer where the braai would of been in Ceratoth

So as time draws near for the event, a few new ideas have been posed to me.
It is generally felt that we should meet at Hartebeespoort Dam at about 9am on the 21st then drive up the mountain and come back down at a reasonable time before lunch and then go to a spot on the dam which has a pool and braai facilities available. Thus there would also be toilets available.
Please let me have your thoughts

Hi
Please can we have final numbers from everyone, we need to get the permit we need to drive through the reserve at Hartebeespoort, there is no cost for the permit thanks to Glenn (BBM member) for organising it.
The plan is to meet in Hartees early (9:30am) on Thur 21 Mar, drive up the mountian and back down again, and then have a braai at a place where there are facilities (pool, toilets, etc). As usaul, please bring own drinks and food.
Please post below if you can make it.

Hi
Things have changed on my side and I can unfortunately no longer make it as I have a meeting with a new potential sponsor for my Children's Home. However this does not mean that things are not going ahead, the plan is to meet at the Engen Garage (where the Upperdeck Restaurant is) at the intersection of the R104 / R27 and the R512 at 9:30 on the 21st to proceed up the mountain at 10:00.
The trip will be lead by Bevan and Glenn, I will post their phone numbers later.

Hey there Ladinians as you all know the Gauteng social is this week , Steve started all the arrangements but now the poor “Hammer man” can’t make it. Never the less here with some logistical arrangements: I think if we meet at the Engen garage on the crn of R104 and R27 and R512 it’s the big four way stop after you go through the tunnel at the dam. We are meeting there at 10 o clock on the morning of the 21st March 2013 Just look for the blue and maroon Lada’s you will know you’re at the right place . The plan from there is to head up to the quarry at the top of one of the surrounding mountains overlooking the dam a nice play ground up there and some epic views of the dam , From there we heading to Leloko Eco Estate its about a five minute drive from where the quarry is but is not near shops etc etc so bring what you need please. What to bring ; Your own eats and drinks , a bag of wood or charcoal to braai , Chairs Costumes for swimming And whatever els you feel you will need . For any further info or directions feel free to call Glenn 083 3620836

Thanks to all the guys and gals from LadaBB. Had a great time yesterday at the quarry and dam and didn't manage to break anything....not even the bottle of beer I was holding when I slid down the mountain side (twice). No, not in CERATOTH but on my bum ! The hospitality was amazing and to invite a 'Roineck' into your home made it even more special. Thanks again and looking forward to the next Gauteng event. Regards to all at LOCSA and LadaBB (must get a more modern cellphone !). Keith and CERATOTH

Hi Ari..... Yes. While waiting at the Engen garage, a coachload of Japanese tourists arrived. You couldn't hear yourself think for the noise of their camera shutters clicking. Quite why the excitement I'm not sure.......quess that we were a better 'picture subject' than the Wimpy ! Regards to all at LOCSA. Keith and CERATOTH.
