Finally after huge sufferings I learned how to upload big photos.
With big thank you to Ari and his patience to guide me step by step.
But is wasn't easy at all, the menu in his computer is quite different to mine ones.
Anyway, similar to Ari's story about upgrading (or re-spraying) his Lada I've got my own fun story to re-new another Niva from bumper to bumper. But not to change the colour, on the contrary it is essential to preserve the existing one.

Hi Ventz ,
Is this the project you were considering earlier? Fully refurbished NIVA that will be up for sale?
Impressive!

Hi Spikes,
No, this is a half of the other project which I kept in mind. This car still has engine and some transmission left which anyway I need to strip and check. The other my idea was to start another car from "0" --->> I've got fully naked new shelf without any bolt and nut on.

It is urgent job which I need to complete for one French lady.
She bought two Nivas from me - brand new one from my showroom in 1998 and another used one in 2010 after her return to SA from France. Both of her Ladas finished in nasty accidents and were written off, the second one just a month ago. Now she is goin' for the third Niva, she likes them a lot.
This is the reason to call it NORMANDIA, not to the name of the province Normandie but to the name of the famous regiment of four escadrilles of French pilots, mechanics and support stuff who fought on the Eastern front during WW2.
Many air and naval stuff managed to escape the German occupation and fled to the French colonies in Northern Africa. But later came Feldmarschall Rommel and push all allies to Egypt. Some of the French pilots joined the British RAF but some of them travelled to Iran and later North to USSR where they joined the Red Army.
With personal request of Charles De Gaulle to Joseph Stalin a French regiment was established and they fought until the very end of the war. They were fierce warriors in the air so the German High Command decreed that any French pilot captured would be executed. All became heroes and received numerous orders, citations and decorations both from France and Soviet Union.
After the war the pilots returned to a heroes welcome in Paris. Stalin expressed his gratitude to the regiment by offering 37 of the unit's YAK-3 fighters as a gift to France. The planes became part of the new French Air Force.
This is the story which this lady call to my mind. I watched the movie when I was a kid. Let's hope she would not destroy the next YAK.

Those French pilots had an excellent reputation! Offered a choice of Allied planes, they chose the Yak - very underrated aircraft! Regards, John

Hi John,
I believe the YAK fighters are really good. On the first day of the offensive over the German territory, the French guys shot down 29 enemy aircraft without any loss. At the end of the war, the regiment had claimed 273 enemy aircraft shot down, another 37 probables, and lost 87 aircraft and 52 pilots in return.
Data from Wikipedia.

Hi Spikes
It is difficult to really see in a photo but as long as the tubes are OK there will be no problem.

A few razors are slightly bent aside but far from the tubes. I'll straight them up. And clean the mist from the black paint.
