Good news Damian! The fuel smell is most likely the Vapour box behind the side panel next the rear seat on thedrivers side. You will find information here: locsa.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=technical&action=display&thread=773 There is also mention of it on Baxter's site if I remember correctly. In my opinion the best option would be a replacement box but in the meantime you can use a T piece to connect pipes It could also be a leak around the seal of the fuel gauge float cover but that will be very obvious once the rear seat is out and the tank cover sheet removed Spikes

Hi Guys...glad that your brakes are 'sorted' Damian. The petrol smell you soon get used to ! I repaired the vapour box (which had a broken pipe connector) and have no leaks from the fuel tank....but I still get a petrol smell when I fill up with fuel at the garage. I think that its just 'vapour' coming out of the vent pipe and somehow getting into the cab. As it goes away quite quickly with the window open, I'm just not going to go to the bother of taking everything apart....again :-) Autozone seem to be quite good at selling the wrong parts. They sold me a 'wrong' set of plug leads for my Mother-in Law's Cressida and a wrong coil for CERATOTH despite my having part numbers and originals for comparison. I always double check now before I leave the store. Midas on the other hand have always been very good.....just goes to show that it pays to shop around. Regards to all at LOCSA, Keith and CERATOTH

Hi Spikes, Keith
Thank you very much for the feedback.
The smell of petrol is quite strong indeed, so I must definitely get it fixed. I will ask the mechanic to check everything that you have suggested.
I will post feedback as soon as I have some.
Thanks again,
D
