On the way back from Gauteng a guineafowl struck the windscreen dead centre which caused a 10 cm crack at the bottom. What is the best way to stop the crack from getting bigger? Is there a possibility of repairing such a crack?
The trip to and from Gauteng was actually very unpleasant due to the strong wind and a "new" vibration that is quite harsh at 100km/h. This is most likely caused by the intermediate shaft that might be on it's way out - or maybe it needs to be rebalanced?

Marius unfortunately cracks can not be repaired. Go to your local glass place and they can put something on the tip of the crack preventing it from going further. Has been done on my car and the crack hasn't spread in 5000km.
With the vibration I would check the doughnut for damage and realign the gearbox and tc.

They used to drill a tiny hole and fill that with a type of glue. Lasts well but may crack when exposed to sudden temp changes such as demist blower or cold water onto hot windscreen. But worth trying.

Thanks Spikes Fortunately the crack is at the bottom of the windscreen and hopefully it can be stopped in it's tracks - well at least for a while. Marius
