Hi Guys, Now that I have sorted out the "stuttering" Engine, the Gearbox finally packed up! Does anyone have a spare Gearbox for sale or rent until I can repair mine?

Hi Darrel, VincentC had a spare gearbox, until I "broke" mine, now I have his and he is rebuilding mine. Someone else on BBM was selling a spare gearbox, but now I cant find his details, will find them and get back to you.

Being a bit apprehensive about Gearbox remove and replace, would R1200 be fair to have it done be a more experienced person?

lol. What is their labour rate? At R300 that is only 4 hours. Otherwise do it yourself. Its really not difficult.

Hi Guys, The Gearbox is out and the 1st thing I saw was that the Coupling (Doughnut) is completely stuffed with some other parts that needs replacement as listed in the attached document. I have read somewhere that a Ford Siera's Doughnut is a replacement, is this true? Would some kind soul have these spares lying around doing nothing? Shortly I will post some pics Attachments:

Hi Darrel
As far as I know the Sierra or Granada doughnut will fit but it lacks the locating pins(you can see one in the top right hand of one of the pictures) which may lead to vibrations as it(doughnut) can shift. I have included the Sierra doughnut as a "temporary" fix in the Maintenance Spares that I am compiling

I had a doughnut fitted without the locating lugs and did not have vibration problems...

Hi Darrel, Chris Swales had a 2nd hand gear box yday which he offered to me. I won't be taking it. Don't know about the condition but price seemed ok to me. Perhaps you should contact him, he will be on forum under "suppliers" .. I think!

Hello Ruan, I did not receive the Nut but I got another one at a local Gearbox shop, thanks anyway. I would however like to take you up on your offer for other spares. I could be needing spares for a disengaging 3rd gear, I am not sure what it is yet but would you have some of those lying around? Kind Regards
