The dual mass flywheel/clutch setup was invented when the art of double-declutching was no longer part of the driving lessons you learnt from your parents or older brother or smooth gear changes for that matter

A normal flywheel - if balanced correctly - should not cause any vibration or shock Sounds very much like typical appliance engineering >> design a hinge/door/seal only to last for that long before it gives trouble. Marius

Hi Marius
When overhauling a motor the complete crankshaft, flywheel, clutch, and front pulley / damper should be balanced as an assembly. Unfortunately very few people do it.

I am not sure whether it has been mentioned under this thread already, but Ferrodo rear wheel brake cylinders are available at Autozone:
Part Number FHW077
Thanks Spikes for this information.

Hi Guys
The correct wheel cylinder part no. is WC206.1502. I replaced my rear wheel cylinders last month, I asked for FHW077 and they told me that this number is not right. The WC stands for Wheel Cylinder 206 is the diameter (20.64 mm). We will have to order more, as I bought the last 2 in stock, from Ferodo.
I hope this helps.
Thanks
Allan

I'm going to have to get a new clutch plate, a pressure plate, a releaser bearing, and the pilot bearing. So please, any advice you could give me would be much appreciated...

Hi Dheer
Just take the old Pilot Bearing to Bearing Man - they should have a good quality sealed bearing which fits.
Please let us know about the part number.
Regards
Danie

been reading trough this topics a bit and i must admit: this is all new to me. Hi Jan Before the Locsa website has been revived about two years ago, most local new owners, as well as prospective Lada buyers simply did not know about all local Suppliers where they could get hold of spare parts ! The local spare part Suppliers did (and still do) not seem to be interested in advertising - so if it wasn't for this website, many local owners or prospective buyers would not be aware of the majority of the local spare part suppliers , or would not know how to keep their Ladas going. Let's rather not discuss business skills and local spare part prices here........ Danie

Hi Jan It would be fantastic if you can forward Gabor's details for us - esp if you guys have been dealing with him for a long time. Spare parts in the old Eastern Block countries are extremely competitive and it would be great to open yet another channel from that part of the world. Much appreciated Marius

Hi All,
I also experienced very good service from Pavel. I even had a piece of original Ukranian art included for the wife. Needless to say we can not wait to receive the parcell! ;D His wife assisted in finding a nice art piece on The Pushkin Boulevard in his city, Donetsk (http://www.donetskcity.com/sights/pushkin.php). If this is not special service by special people I do not know!
Regards,
Fanus
