I would like to know if somebody has needed to change their Niva's transfer case's mounting bolts that come through the floor of the Niva. My Niva felt that it needs TLC and decided to strip.

I have changed my T/C bolts and the gearbox ones too. I put plates on the inside as cracks had appeared in one layer on the floor, short ones but I cant imagine them healing up! My bolts threads were starting to get a bit ugly so I changed the whole lot, sealed up to water proof and I have had no problems

Hi Bob Now that you have nice new studs, try using long extension nuts as they use the complete thread and not just the thickness of a nut. That way the threads will last for a long time. Ronnie Attachments:

Thanks Ronnie. I have had already bought these types of nuts for the transfer case. They work wonderful.
My Niva is now up and running again.
