Hello once more everyone its been a while, My engine question is relitively simple, Which engine is the most common in RSA? The Opel 1.8/2.0 series, the Nissan SR20 series, the Honda B18/20 series or the Toyota 4AGE? Thanks lads.

Toyota Age, Opel, Honda, Nissan. In that order.

It may just be possible that the 4 cylinder 8 valve basic VW 1600 may surpass the Opel

Although sort of a secret but sort of not I now have access to full on CAD facilities, laser cutting etc etc all the stuff I have wanted my hands on for a while! I am researching up which of the above engines to build a Niva conversion kit for. Two I my friends have wrecking yards so I have access to all sorts of engines to use as templates, I have a spare gearbox as well but haveing access to affordable prototypeing, awesome engineering and even 3D printing services makes it all more doable. Plus Fiats are too rare, too old and are OBSCENELY expensive for parts.

Putting a Isuzu engine in a Niva would just make it unreliable.#

Charles don't really know if that statement is true. My father is law as got 2 isuzu the one with 500 000km on the clock, worked on the engine for the first time on 400 000km and the other one 350 000km no work done on the engine. All that is not such a good thing is the gearbox, i think the engine has got to much power for the box (my opinion).

So Charles by the post above I guess you are not an isuzu fan, luckily there is freedom of speech otherwise ther will only be 1 car on the market, haha. I guess every car has its advantages and disadvantages. Just wanted to tell my useless information.
