Thanks Riaan.
Just in case you do need easy directions to Pineville Junction, here it comes:
Take the Highway to the North Coast, and then turn left at the N3 turn off to 'Maritzburg near the Pavillion.
Drive pass the Pavillion, and after another three to four kms., turn left at the Pinetown / Pietermaritzburg turn off.
Drive on for another one or two km, and turn left at the Shepstone Rd / New Germany turn off.
After another 100m , turn right at the T junction.
Another 50m , and turn right at the robot.
Now you are in Stapleton Road.
Drive through the tunnel, take the left lane , and cross the first Robot.
Drive pass the big tree, about 50m from the Robot .
About 50m from the tree, turn left - into the parking area of Pineville Junction.
Conrad, I assume you do know where Pineville Junction is. If you don't - this should be the easiest way to get there:
Drive down Fields Hill, and turn left into Old Main Road - near the bottom of Fields Hill.
Drive right through Pinetown, and at the foot of Cowies Hill, at the robot, turn right into Stapleton Road.
Stay in the right side lane, and after about 50m from the Robot, turn right into the parking area at Pineville Junction.

Hey Guys im in for this for sure. Lets meet earlier so that we have time to play at Killarney. I have AT tyres on and by just letting the pressure down was able to get through a couple of obstacles at Killarney. There are other small loops near by the braai/camp area. I think the trick here guys is that we dont push guys into doing obstacles if they are hesitant. I dont ahve much experience in the 4x4, let the chairman of the Land Rover Club drive my through one of the obstacles, 3 attempts later he made it through, then I gave it a try and got through first time. I say met at 12, leave at 1230. See you all there.

Hi Darryn
I thought some guys might still be working during Saturday mornings, that's why I suggested 2.00 PM.
If 12.00 and Killarney suit everyone, I wont have a problem - except that I will only be present at Pineville Junction until everyone leave for Killarney. My Lada is not ready yet, so I will rather stay behind, until my Lada is ready.
You are right - the "trick"is to take things slow, and not to push anyone into anything.

Hi Danie,
Thanks I know where Pineville Junction is.
There's no need for you to stay behind, you can always get a lift with one of us, provided you don't mind being a passenger.

Hi Conrad Thanks for the offer - unfortunately I am not sure whether I will have time to go to Killarney as well. We will probably start working on Saturdays to cope at work in the near future . If we do, I will take off an hour or two to show up at Pineville Junction, but I will probably have to go back to work . Danie

;D went and played at Killarney yesterday with kids in tow so didn't do too much. Was impressed by the articulation of the lada. Almost didn't make when I was towed home on Friday night. Fuel line got blocked at the tank by a chunk of silicon that was in the tank. But all good now. Attachments:

Just a suggestion to owners who might be considering joining the Pineville Junction meetings in future:
All owners who might be thinking of ordering spare parts from Pavel, could start putting a list of needed spare parts together before each meeting, and bring the list to be handed in at the Pineville Junction meetings.
I think we could save a lot on EMS (Speed Post) Shipment cost, should we rather place group orders in future. To my mind placing group part orders on a regular basis (i.e after each Pineville Junction meeting) should give everyone some peace of mind that cheaper parts will be available on a regular basis.
Sorry, for some practical reasons, I think this arrangement should be only applicable to owners who do attend group activities in the Durban and surrounding areas regularly.
Owners who find themselves in other areas should rather organize their own spare part group orders, should they be interested.
Danie.

Hi Danie
There is a limit on the Rc value that can be imported without an import permit. To the best of my knowledge the amount is R3000.00. The source I checked was not clear on whether this was inclusive of Freight. The exporter may also be bound by export regulations in his country.

Hi
I think it is a great idea and will work very well.
Check with Ari and Charles as to import requirements, Ari's last order was well over R5000 and probably in the region of R10000 if not more.

Hi Guys
The cycling club I belong to does this sort of importing, everyone pays their portion in advance. We also cater for members not in our local area, they simply pay for the extra shipping and insurance. Maybe LOCSA should try and do this once a month.

Hi All
Thanks for the info.
My own idea is to order the smaller bits and pieces as a group - the more expensive (heavier in weight as well) components should rather be imported by owners themselves.
But this issue is obviously open for discussion at our local meetings.

Just a reminder to the KZN guys about the meeting at Pineville Junction - next Saturday, 7th July.
There is no need for anyone to reply to this post, in order to indicate your intentions.
Should anyone be interested in joint spare part imports in future, just make up a list of needed parts, start thinking about any suggestions for discussion at the meeting, and attend the meeting.
Let's meet at 12.30 PM - that should allow owners who might be interested to "play" a bit at the Killarney 4 x 4 track as well.
