Almost died in a sooped up gti. Niva has no gangster look and has no power to make u do stupid things. Looks cool and in ten years it wil still look cool. That and it was cheap and i was stupid enough to buy it.

Hi lincslada,
You almost made my heart burst out of my chest with pride! I now know a Land Rover owner that saw the light and changed to a Niva. Solid man, solid.
I have been working on a landrover (to be recovered by a Niva) for the last four months (body and mechanical) and it hurts every time to see all the steel used (in some perplexing ways) to try and do what a Niva can also do (better). I will never ever be able to change from a Niva to a behemoth.
The looks of the Niva convinced me that I must own one. Finnish en klaar! Also when I down a few beers and philosophy over my Niva I realise that it is also in my genes; I am from Europe and the Niva was designed by Europeans and not Far Easterners or Americans (or whatever). Style man style. All the 4 x 4's get bigger and bigger to compensate for the lazy and clumsy lot, and still they hook these overkill trailers on. Clearly you dare not go into the bush/off road on your own with that rig; if you get stuck you will never get it out on your own!
The Niva is King without the bling! Viva Niva!

Hi Fanus
I have used Landy and Niva for my travels and they both have their uses. If like me you needed to carry heavy loads the only choice you have is the Landy. Otherwise go for the Niva.

Pure economics.
You cant buy any other 4x4 except a series Landy that you have to take home in boxes and packets for the price of a running niva.

Needed a 4x4 for my work. As Conrad says economics AND then..... The back-up provided on the various NIVA forums... and now our own pipelines for tyres and spares are a bonus I had not bargained for.
