I'm getting approximately 9km/l with a mix of town and freeway driving.
I have ordered a carb rebuild kit, and I'm hoping that this will improve the consumption. At the moment I have quite a noticeable flat spot so I know that all is not well with the carb.

Charles my carb model realy chomps fuel did less than 300km per tank. My dad s (old) focus u can go 600km + with 40l so u realy have to love your lada to drive it every day. My hilux 3l 24v 6 cyl is mush cheaper to drive.

Niva is my daily car the last 3 years. During the last 4-5 months.....mix of town, freeway and off road driving .....about 450-500 km per week ....and the petrol here cost 1,70-1,80 Euros per liter!!!!

I use my daily as well. Get about 10km per liter. I had a similar issue a while back when she did about 7.5 to 8km per liter. I adjusted the timing and the issue was resolved.

I do for the last nearly 7 years, getting about 8km/l. If you do not drive it for a day you miss the beast.
Regards.

I am now a daily niva driver. Stock standard. Get 10l/100km and its not to slow. Maybe if i fit smaller wheels it may be even better.

I missed this thread.
I am a daily Niva driver. There are days that I will fill up 3 times before getting home.
The fuel I have found to be a bigger factor than you can imagine. Best consumption - Total and BP consistently. I only use "Cream Soda" I am currently running 10.6L/100km at closest to 130km that I can maintain in the Niva. The Niva also has an Aircon which is used most days. It has a Weber carb on and will shortly revert to original Solex as the Solex does not starve halfway up a steep incline.
My wife does not understand why I love driving the Niva

Hi Vincent
If you spent more time on the Forum and less time driving you would not miss so much ;D
