Howzit all, eventually, here's some pics of the Niva we just bought (I hope this works...). My son Matthew eventually cleaned up this dirty girl, and I've already been busy fixing up a few things. Generally she's in good nick, but does need a new steering wheel and passenger seat. I'll probably end up changing both front seats. I just fixed the fuel gauge and low fuel warning light today - only the wires were swapped on the tank sender unit....and in the process also discovered the rear seat squab also folds forward to creat a larger load area - Bonus ! Hi
photobucket or image shack are the only ways to post more than 1 pic.

Apart from the scrapes on the door, the body looks really neat! Nicely done man!

Congrats on the nice Lada !
I have bought a Fiat rear diff for my Lada from a young guy, also from Brakpan, during the previous week . I guess Brakpan is quite big, and you won't know the guy - Rudi Pieterse.

Some old toyota apparently ran 14" rims with the same offseat as the Niva. I just don;t know which one.

Hi Spikes, yes the rims are 14", and the tyres are 195R14C, all in good nick too. I don't know where they originated, but the guy I bought the vehicle said he had them fitted by Centurion Lada (I have the receipt in the pack he gave me). It looks like the hub portion has been modified to suit - check out the pics. The spare is still the original 16". Unfortunately he didn't get the original rims back from them. I think they will look smashing in black (and Matthew agrees), watch this space.... Attachments:

The original rims look great in black. I sprayed mine black and it looks really cool. Especially with the chrome hub covers. Jan (centurion lada) told me he keeps the 16 rims for himself when I asked if I could buy a set from him. He refused to sell them to me. That bowled me over as any other charm offensive could.

Hmmm.... That's interesting, why would they keep them if they don't intend to sell again....
