All
First thanx for all the warm welcome messages.
This is more about the frustration I have with the Centurion Lada (so called Dealership). I have had previous experiences with them and refuse to do business with them. Problem is that as far as I know, they are some of the only shops that have original spares. Because I want only genuine Lada parts in my car, I am forced to get spare parts from them.
My car has been with a mechanic (that I trust) for more than 2 months. I have tried a few places but no one has the intermediate shaft I need to get my car running again. So...I had no choice to get the part from Centurion Lada... they sold me a "Recon" part as new...
Now getting a refund or an original part is going to be a new chapter in my "Lada story".
So, if there is any advice to get this done, please let me know.
ps. I got alot of requests to put pic's up, I will do this as soon as I get my car back : ) (whenever that will be)
Regards
Ruan

Ruan, reconditioned is in most cases as good as a new one. Spare yourself the trouble and try to learn to live with these tings.

Try Ventz (Pietermaritzburg), Mike (Cape Town), or order online from Pavel (Ukraine), Neill (England).

Hi Ruan I think I will go with what Jan recommended (not the one in Centurion - but our friend from Belgium UNLESS there is a problem with the shaft then you can shove it where it belongs. IF the UJoint on the shaft is functioning properly the following two things are very important. Firstly you have to make sure that the UJoint is greased properly with the correct grease. Secondly you have to line up the shaft correctly with the TC. If you struggle or don't know how to do this, ask and someone will help you. If the Ujoint is stuffed I would recommend that you order from overseas as this particular part is very expensive locally, but I guess I don't have to tell you that ;D I presume you have the Ujoint version and not the CV one? Hope you get sorted. Marius

Hi Ruan
My advice for what it is worth is to stay away from the so- called dealer in Centurion. There are plenty alternative places to source spares and at a much cheaper price.
