Hi all,
So my indicators were working after the auto electrician fixed the wiring problem.
But since this morning:
When I indicate left it goes at double the speed it should.. When I indicate right it starts normally, goes double time after a couple of seconds then stops working altogether.
When I put hazard lights on they work normally.
Any ideas?

Clean the connectors on the rear lights and make sure the earth wires are clean and secure to the body behind the lights.

Thanks Charles.. Tried it but unfortunately no luck. Even with both rear lights disconnected no luck.
Could it be that the flasher unit is buggered? But it's odd that it is working fine when the hazards are on.

Hi Damian
You have an earth / connection problem. I notice you mentioned " even with both lights DISCONNECTED no luck.' That is the problem, they must be connected and have a good earth to work.

From my own experience I think Charles is right - try and clean all the contacts with Electo Clean. There is quite a lot of dust accumulating in that area which is normally the cause.

Hi Marius
Having read the posts again the problem could be either indicator switch or wiring from the switch to the flasher. If the hazard lights work then there is no problem with the earthing in the circuit. I would carefully check the wiring and all the connections the alarm people made. In my experience the after market alarm installers should be exterminated and that includes some of the Netstar installers as well.

I think Ronnie hit the nail on the head. re-after markets being exterminated.
It started working again.. no one knows why. Everything is working now.
Though, when I put the right indicator on now.. I have to push the lever up a little bit otherwise it doesn't come on.. Like it isn't making a connection correctly. I will have a look at this in the morning and hopefully I'll be able to work it out.
Thanks everyone.

Sorted it out.. Just took the cover just under the steering wheel off, and put it back on.. and it's working fine. Odd but happy that everything is working.
Thanks again

Just to give a answer to this specific problem, I found that the trailer plug got damaged and resulted in a few of the cables touching, thus blowing the fuses and causing the lights on various places not working. This actually also caused the fuel pump fuse to pop at some point.

Why do you have electric fuel pump on carb lada and not mechanical one?

Why do you have electric fuel pump on carb lada and not mechanical one? Ari Ari, My best guess: the mechanical one is not functioning correctly anymore, so the owner at that time decided to go with a electric pump instead of refurbishing that one. What advantages would a mechanical one give me though?

The mechanical ones were mostly replaced when spares were hard to come by IE before importing your own spares became feasible.
Actually the electrical pump is the better option, provided your electrical system is in good condition

One thing though if you mount an electric pump under the bonnet you will in all probability have problems with percolation. I had this problem on Ari`s and on the one Vincent now has. It is best to mount it at the back under the small "bin". Ronnie

hi i had this same problem the indicators works and then switches off again i went about three times back to the auto electrician until he finally fixed it and the initial problem was the guy who installed my central locking as well .i learnt that dont let anyone work on your lada dude cos it gave me more problems than i could think of .but i think it could just be the way they connected the wires
