I can only add that the outcome of this poll DOES NOT effect the appointment of Moderators. LOCSA should however consider appointing Moderators in future rather by vote than as in the previous method whereby the existing Moderator(s) appointed Moderators. This poll should also not effect the appointment of Events Organisers. Any further discussion with regard to the Formal Structure should be continued here >> locsa.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=announce&action=display&thread=1155&page=6Marius

Hi all
The final result of the poll clearly indicates that the majority of our active members feel that there is no need for the current Management Structure as it stands. The current Management Structure will therefor dissolve as of 1 August 2012.
I can suggest that we reflect back onto this decision in a years time and decide whether we need any changes or even a new poll for that matter.
Thanks for everyone that participated in this poll.

Hi Marius.
That is a good idea to revisit this idea in the near future,
Cheers Riaan

Lets hold our horses a bit here - you guys are a bit quick out of the blocks. The current Management Team is still up and running Lets do this in an proper and orderly fashion. I deleted the previous two posts as some of the statements made there could bring a very sudden end to this forum. Ari there was nothing wrong with your post but we will get there in good time. Not sure what happened here, BUT as Marius rightly said, let the present structure phase in the new moderators, and organisers where required
Thanks

I agree 100% Charles - but without this forum LOCSA will disappear. People should be very careful not to put the forum in danger.

ok, i thought about this for a day or so, and i feel that i'm at least partly responsable for the outcome of the poll. To begin with, i voted 'no' and second: my previous posts clearly indicate that i feel there is no formal structure needed. Some members seemed to have followed me in that conviction and now al kinds of things are happening. Danie gone, Steve left, threads are opened, closed and opened again and various posts get deleted by the mods. LOCSA seem to be a bit of track here and that was NEVER my intention. There are a number of Niva forums world wide and there are only 2 wich i visit on daily bases: my own Belgian forum and LOCSA. I think that indicates that i believe that LOCSA is a nice place to hang around and that should stay that way. I always said that there are two different clubs: The LOCSA forum and the LOCSA club members who get together from time to time. The forum has no need for a formal management, only an administrator and moderators. So in fact nothing wil change after august 1st. There still will be an administrator and a team of moderators. Some members will loose there title, so what? Marius, chairman of the board, will still be Marius. Charles still wil be Charles, and so on.
So i wonder: WHAT IS THE PROBLEM?

Hi Jan Do not hold yourself responsible at all. You were one of the very last to cast a vote. And one "No" vote would not have made a difference. The die is cast and the present Structure staff and moderators should now put the required moderators and regional event organisers in place. Hopefully we can get it done without any more drama than what we have had so far Spikes

Hi Jan
I also voted no and made no secret about it, this time or the last time we voted. I accepted the decision last time and accept it this time. Last time I even ended up on the committee. I can`t see how you were in any way responsible. We all had the freedom to vote as we saw fit. Members should continue as they were before the vote. The Forum has not changed and a wealth of information changes hands daily. This helps members keep their Niva on the road, and I am sure this is the wish of all of us
Ronnie.

Hi,
I also voted 'no' to having a formal structure for the forum management, but I don't understand why this is making everyone want to leave?
Is it simply a case that people feel that without the formal structure the forum will not have direction and future, or is there more to it?
Please can we discuss this peacefully so that we can learn from our mistakes if need be, and move past this?

Hi all The recent poll with regard to LOCSA’s Management Structure resulted in a clear majority (58%) in favour to abolish the current structure. However as we all know by now this was not without some controversy as two of our very active and senior members decided to call it a day and quit their membership. Fortunately Democracy won at the end of the day. On a brighter note Charles has now been appointed as Moderator and I wish him all the best with this all important task. My message to Charles and any future Moderators - to be as objective as possible when difficult decisions needs to be made and to always put the interest of LOCSA first. Friendships are very important, but never let friends cloud your judgement. LOCSA has also appointed several Events Organisers in the larger areas in order to organise more successful events in future. The Events Organisers are: Darius (Gauteng), Vincent (KZN), Stephan (Western Cape) and Ari(Eastern Cape). It would be great to see a large gathering of Lada Niva’s soon! Congrats guys! Marius
