Hi there
After "trolling" the web regarding the capabilities of the NIVA I REALLY need to get one . . . or more
But the "ball and chain" put a stop to this idea. She was complaining about all the recreation vehicles in the yard. Shht don't tell her . . . I found a work around. If I sell of swap my current BUNDU BASHER - aka GHORR, or my dual purpose bike and then I can get one.
So does anybody know of somebody wanting to swap one for a V8 converted D/C Hilux or a KLE 400 KAWA?
I am not getting rid of the pipe car yet...

Hi Bluespawn
Welcome to the forum - hope you will find a Lada soon.
Nothing wrong with Ford - excellent value for money. The Ford Dealerships offer an excellent service to the general public as well...

Hi there peeps, have a look here easterncape.gumtree.co.za/c-Cars-Vehicles-cars-V8-converted-Hilux-W0QQAdIdZ332674809About the fuel consumption . . . I don't really know. I sometimes go out to Joubertina in the Langkloof, driving at reasonable speeds and not "gunning" it through the gears it is not that bad about 7km/l. When driving it "like you stole it" it drops down to about 3km/l. The last time I went to the Langkloof it was about 30l / R275, coming back about 55l / R575 of fuel its about 225km to where I go. It does have the two barrel carb on it. I had the 4 barrel Holley carb on for about a week, that was just plain crazy on fuel consumption. The power on this 351cu Cleveland motor is crazy.

Danie I think the dealerships will be quite confused when you pull up in a Hilux and asking them to service the V8 . . .
Its the old Fairmond GT motor

Hi BlueSpawn Welcome. I've heard from friends that in Knysna, Mosselbay area are still many Lada's. Don't know where and whether it's for sale.

Hi Bluespawn About 18 years ago I have done a Chevy 350 conversion to a Jaguar XJ6. It has been a lovely car, and fuel consumption was between 7 to 8km / liter below 120 km/h on the open road. My youngest son needed a smaller car when he was a student, so I have swapped the Jag for a hot Datsun 140Y GX Coupe. At one stage I was doing a V8 conversion on a 2.5 Chevrolet Firenza Coupe model, which looked like the Chev Can Am V8's . Unfortunately I had to abandon the project when I moved to Durban just more than 10 years ago... I do like the sound of the 302 Ford engines . Danie

Hi all,
I'm looking for standard Niva for a gentlemen in my neighbourhood, preferably with injection engine. The availability of aircoin will be welcome. Could be not in perfect mechanical condition but accident and rust free.
