Since i have an order to make 8 roof racks i will build myself a mold to make my work easier and faster. This time i will make some drawings with dimensions and pictures and put them all in a zip-file. If someone is interested in this file, just let me know and i will mail it to you. I've just finished building a roof rack with a hi-lift and spare wheel carrier. If there's some interest, i will ad those drawings also. I will only mail the file, there went to much work in building these things for the world to grab for free. Besides, i don't want any legal issues. That's also the reason why i ask you to keep the file for yourself Before you say 'YES, I WANT IT' keep in mind that you need some specialist tools to build a roof rack: - a metal sheet bender - a hydraulic pipe bender - a welder - a drill - a grinder These roof racks are almost the same as the original (and VERY expensive) ones Give me a few days to make some drawings and pictures in return i would like somebody to make specialist drawings with Google SketchUp. I can only draw (a little bit ;D) with pencil and paper and i would like a clean drawing file

I'm very interested in the plans. I have contacted someone yesterday here in Witbank that said he will build me a roof rack. The plans would be fantastic. I will email you, Jan.

This is a very neat design that suits the Niva as it is very close to the original design. If I ever fit a roof rack it will look like this.

Hi Jan I would appreciate it very much if I can have the drawings for both types of roofracks. I am especially interested in the one with the highlift jack and spare wheel carrier. Luckily making it is not a problem for me as my dad owns a fabrication and engineering shop Tnx Riaan

Hi Jan
This is a roof rack that I really like. If anyone is going to fit a roof top tent remember to keep the side rail short of the front or you will have problems with the rods which keep the flaps over the windows open.

Good day Does anyone perhaps have drawings/cutting list for a set of Ramps. If anybody build a set b4, how much did it cost? Any other info in this regard will very much be appreciated.
Regards Stephen

Steve, Midas sell a set of ramps for about R150, they about 20 cm high and ample for most purposes.

My Lada is with my son at University. As soon as its back a guy would build one for me. He looked at your plans and quoted me R5 500.

LOL thank you! I'm originally from Sweden, i just work in Paraguay. sorry to make you all disappointed. but I'm thinking of moving here.
My boss asked me what cars i thought would work good here? I said, lets try a Niva! so now there is a Niva in a container somewhere on the Atlantic
