What the offroad racing guys do is take a long welding glove. Then they cut the part off that goes over your arm and slip it over the side shaft. They then tie it down with wire in the shaft and cv. That then protects the boot from sticks and rocks.

Dimmitris, i tryed the sillicone boots to. they lasted for about 3 months on the inner cv joints. Plain rubber boots you can buy on ebay last for about 3 DAYS! So how can they be better than the original lada boots? They last for about 5-6 years. I buy mine with pavel now. I must still install them, but i'm confident that he sends me the real stuff

Believe it or not I still have ALL the original CV boots with the exception of one inner CV boot and I have a strong suspicion that it was damaged deliberately. Next month the car will be 12 years old.

Hi all. Jan and Marius, I agree with what you have written. But as you know there are many spare parts manufacturers from russia. So when we say "standard" or "Genuine Parts" never be sure that indeed genuine. Also when buying after market spare parts we are never sure that they are better .... we understand that, only through use. The reason I chose silicone boots is because the drive shafts to a lifted niva turn around under an angle and not nearly as straight as in a normal niva......Time will show the results.

The continuity. On Wednesday ...... we walked into the gorge. About seven kilometers. It was fantastic. In the gorge are built two very old monasteries. The one in the 10th century and the other in the 16th century.
