Hi Dimitris
Many thanks for those pics - absolutely brilliant !
Nice to have another member here who is keen to share his mods and Lada dreams !
The wheels on your Lada seems to be bigger than standard - have you ever experienced any problems, caused by the bigger wheels ?
Regards
Danie

Thank you for all good things you said!!!!!! My problem is that i want to write my opinion in some thread……but my english is not really good and I’m afraid you won’t understand what I want to say!!!!Sorry !!!!!That’s why I’ll take part in this with photos only.
Yes….I spent a lot of time but not so much money!!!! Danie the tires are not so big, 195\80\15 , 68cm diam. Most niva here have 215\75\15 without problems. When you have bad offset of the rims the problem gets created.

Really nice Niva Demitris.
It looks as if you have had your dash covered with leather or Vinyl? Did you do it yourself?
Regards Vincent
PS your english is much better than my Greek. All I can say is Baklava and Kalamata ;D

Hi Dimitris, It is fantastic to see another red Niva 1600, and to see that the owner also loves it! I hope you do not mind if we ask questions about it? Here in South Africa we have +- 11 (official) languages. I think you will agree that it is totally impractical for a country with only +-40 million people. But this is the point; language is not important if you can show somebody with your hand that you do not like him (and run for your life), but more importantly; pack out your teeth if you like him or her ;D So do not worry about the language. lets make a deal; you say what you want and if we do not understand we ask you to explain, but not in Greek ;D (you may show with your hand what you think but please do not attach a photo ? Come to think about it; the Greeks must be very clever people - they can speak and readGreek and English but we can not even read Greek@ let alone speak it. We here on the LOCSA forum we all speak the same language: Niva!!! Regards, Fanus

Hi Dimitris,
Very nice job, esp. I like the dashboard repairs. You even managed to fit a rear diff on the front axle!!
I've been to your home town long, long time ago - August 1988, for 1 day only -driving also Lada but not Niva - model 2102. Still remember few greek words, unfortunately the first which we learned was klepsi, klepsi, it was a reason of course. The people were very friendly, helpful and hospitable that years, I believe today they are the same despite the big changes in recent years. I enjoyed this trip so much.
Best regards
Ventz

Hi Dimitri,
From which vehicle is the black air vent at the rear (on the side) f your Lada? I would like to order two of those if they help with the ventilation?
I see that you got a double down draft Weber on your Lada (36DCD?). I experienced a lot of disapointment with one of those on my Lada (also 1600cc). The problem was when you go up a very steep incline at speed - you lose power because of fuel problems (either letting too much fuel into the carburettor chokes or fuel starvation. It all depends of course for what you use your Lada, because on the open and normal roads the Weber was a dream.
regards,
fanus

Hi Dimitri
Do you perhaps have any photographs of your front steel diff project ?
If so, it will be highly appreciated here.

Hi all. Ventz……come again and I promise you offroad trip with my niva!!!!! By the way, you came in Greece and the only word you remember is “klepsi”, and not “mousaka”, ”souvlaki” etc…?? ;D ;D. Anyway, do you know what “klepsi” means? Fanus……the air vent at the rear are for niva. www.ebay.de/itm/Verkleidung-Blende-Abdeckung-C-Saule-LADA-Niva-/150641261842?pt=DE_Autoteile&hash=item2312eb3d12#ht_2317wt_902 At first my niva had carb SOLEX……(terrible – never worked good). I changed with a Lada 2107-1107010-20 (good), but always I had in my mind to find and try a Weber. I was looking around at the second hand parts market. I found a Weber 32\36 DGAV (auto choke). I rebuilt it and located it. I tried many jets and emulsion tubes, and I found a perfect tune. The only problem was with the auto choke……closed at 50’ C!!!!! I made a mod for that……. Later I was very lucky because I found another one with manual choke .A Weber DGR + filter adapter. (this is the one on my niva right now) .It is the same as DGV 32\36 but 32\32.It is perfect!!!!It has the same performance as 32\36 and lower consumption, 10-11 lit\100km. Yes…..when you go up a very steep incline, there is problem with carbs. But Webers DGV and DGR have bigger “fuel space” and fuel jets are located 2-3 mm lower than Lada carb. Webers have two types floats, copper or plastic. The plastic float has flat down side so the fuel in “fuel space” is a bit more…..I think is better for off road use. I have not problem to 25% and more up hill.……

Hi Dimitris
I have swapped the jets I have arround and this is the result, it is fairly close to yours.
Primary / secondry fuel jets------------ 1.30 1.42 Primary / secondry air jets------------ 1.65 1.60 Primary / secondry emulsion tubes---- F66 F66 Primary secondry idle jets----------------.60 .45
Thanks for the information, we will see how this does.

Hi Dimitris
No problem with the auto choke it comes on in the morning and as soon as the water starts to heat it very quickly opens, and is completly open by about 60 degrees.
