Hey guys
I live in Western Cape and I'm currently hunting for my first Lada. I thinks it's great that there is a site dedicated to the quirky Lada!
P.S I found this site by google search!

Hi Eugene
Welcome to the forum. I hope that it becomes a part of your life like it has mine. This strange little car has also forged a friendship that defies explanation. I wish this for you too.

Hey guys
Thanks for the warm welcome, currently the only Lada I can find that is even remotely close to me is in the Eastern Cape, I'm giving the seller a call tomorrow! I'm finding it quite hard to find anything, never mind decent. I guess it has become quite popular! Anyway, I will keep you updated!
butasteve I'm quite close to you, Durbanville!
Cheers
Eugene

Hi Eugene, Welcome to the forum. Only passionate people owns Ladas. My son is one of those young men that wears all the in clothes (brand names you know). He even use grease (or something similar) to make his hair look like a porcupine that saw a dog coming... I think you get the picture. Well even he think that a Lada Niva is way cool. Say no more. I will not look any further for a Lada if I am you. Let Mike from Lada Doctor do it for you. He is not a robber like some car salesman (and some so called Lada agents) and he helped me out before. Trust is even more important than sound rings in an engine, and you can trust him. He also can of course also look after your Lada there in the Cape (lucky bugger you) Our other Niva bofin is Ventz (a real undercover agent I must say, because I only found his contact details on this forum although I knew about him for more than ten years). He is as passionate about Ladas as Mike, but oh man, do not make the mistake to tell him he is like other Lada 'specialists' in Gauteng - you may end up with a Lada crank where you do not want it! ;D Regards, Fanus

Hey guys I found her at last and even though she has a few things to sort out before she is 100% healthy, I love her already! Really glad to be part of the Lada crowd at last and looking forward to getting to know the car! I have to add that I have no mechanical know-how, but that I would LOVE to understand everything about the car and be able to DIY problems! Luckily I also have Mike a stone's throw away! Two thumbs up to the Lada doctor, before buying my car I called him up and his friendly advise helped me to make my choice! ;D Attachments:

Hi Vincent, Here is my Niva just after it was treated to the latest hot technology available: multipoint-hill-descent control (the Zimbabwe manufactured special model, abbreviated to M C T H - Mugabe Chased Them Here) ) - see attached. It is very reliable - it just does not fail - as long as there is a constant supply of Soweto Pepsi! ;D Aparently this unit proved itself right across Africa for years already. That version however worked with putu pap and marog. Just as reliable! Amazing. ;D Fanus Fanus Attachments:
