Hi Ari
At least portal axles give a proper lift and not a body lift which leaves everything else exactly where it was ;D

Just an observation - I wonder how many times the passenger gets the k@k burnt out of them on that side/stack exhaust mod on one of the previous pictures.

By the way, I do not know, expensive or not for you, if asked, we custom make the party a $ 4900 set of gear ready to be installed at regular places, or $ 6,000 for a set of gears with a reinforced rear axle and A-arm suspension with two longitudinal rods. Separately, increased rear axle with reinforced standard rods, $ 800

Hi Voit
If I understand you correctly, the gear ratio is 1.56 : 1 - which means for each full turn of the one gear, the other gear will turn 1.56 times ?
The value of our currency (ZAR) is quite weak against the US Dollar, which makes the prices a bit expensive. Would you be prepared to sell the portal housings + wheel hubs only ?
There are companies in South Africa who do manufacture gears - so I think it would be more affordable to buy the portal housings + wheel hubs from you, but get the gears made in South Africa.

I pointed out the cost in U.S. $. Rise in price will cause delivery. All gears are selected, there is no sense of change, adjustments will be more. Package looks so

Hi Voit Welcome to the forum. I think the conversion will be too expensive for members here. Ronnie

I have seen a similar conversion on a Unimog (I think) some time ago, but it proved troublesome. I must say the workmanship on Voit's website looks very pro and well designed/made. It is in any case a very clever way of lifting a car.

Hi marius
It is not a conversion on the Unimog, they have portal axels from the factory.

Hi marius It is not a conversion on the Unimog, they have portal axels from the factory. Ronnie It was a long time ago - I remember the name Unimog, but it was obviously another vehicle that tried a similar system Marius

Hi Marius
It is also a complicated system to have and it is very seldom it is required.

Hi Ronnie
Don't know if you are referring to the Unimog when you say "seldom required". On the Unimog you had them, part and parcel of the drive train. One could not switch them in and out at will. They give, as you rightly said added efective ground clearance.

Hi Spikes
I should have been clear, I was saying it is not a system that is really required very often when off road. The high cost renders it irrelevant except in specialized opperations.
