Hi all, For those of you looking for a new 4x4 trail close to Gauteng/North West, the Vaalkopdam Nature Reserve has an excellent one. Well so I was told. We went fishing there before I had the Lada. It close to Brits, but I will advise that you plan the route via Rustenburg. As the road from Brits to the reserve looks like WW II was held there. Their prices are not to bad either. There website address is www.tourismnorthwest.co.za/vaalkop/In my 30 years on this planned, I heard my first fish eagle, not on a TV here. There is a lot of them. It looked like one trail takes you through some deep water. There is croc's and hippo's in the water so don't get stuck. Attachments:

When you are in the bush the fish eagle has the most haunting cry. I used to look forward to it all the time.

We are lucky enough to have a pair passing through Pennington when the rivers are high enough. It is the sound that fills many a glass at sunset time :-) fish eagles are what I was commenting on
