I can only agree with you Jan.
It is a pity that the diesel would cost too much to have shipped.

i could buy the car for you, and dismantle it. I could ship you the specific diesel parts without the engine ( too much weight). Find a XUD engine in SA and you're good to go

Hi Jan
You are not allowed to ship a second hand vehicle into South Africa for use here. The law is there to protect the Local Manufacturers.
Ronnie
PS If you emigrate to South Africa you can bring your vehicle with you providing you have already owned it for 2 years and then you must keep it for 2 years before selling it.

You could actually ship the entire engine to SA by sea freight and it would not be too expensive. My cousin did this from England with a VW engine, gearbox, 4WD system and suspension about 6 years ago.

seats origine from a Fiat Barchetta don't worry about the big tyres. I have 10/41 ratio diffs in the diesel (stock is 11/43). Planning on 10/43, but i only have the front diff so far. Hope to get a second one soon.

If you have difficulty finding a 4.3 crownwheel and pinion, I've probably got some in the garage. Regards, John

Hi Jan Just some useless information which you might find interesting. My youngest son's wife was born in South Africa, but her parents came from Holland. Believe it or not , my daughter in law can hardly speak Dutch or Afrikaans . She has been raised in English by her parents , and attended English schools in South Africa.......and today she teaches English at a local High School........ Strange world in which we find ourselves . Regards Danie

Hi Danie
I know a mechanic at a local workshop, he is Chinese. He can only speak Afrikaans and a little bit of English. He calls himself a boer. Can't speak a single word of Chinese. Just imagine hearing him speak for the first time.
