I think the Lada prefers the Weber as every time I try the Solex the Lada breaks something Ari

Hi Mike
A picture of your Webber would be appreciated. How is your petrol consumption better or worse. The Solex on mine is about to be launched into orbit any time as it will not idle properly and I can`t find the problem.

hi there guys, is it worth spending the money and buying the weber carb? is the price worth the power gain? thanx jarrod Only if it is overhauled, a old shagged weber will be no better than an old shagged original. Then again there is the overhauled/new original option

well i would suggest the 36dsd i have one spare that needs a bit of work, ran on another lada you can mod the carb with diff jets but won't give you the grunt like a 38dgas. pm me if interested.

Hi Ari
I know you have the Webber on at the moment, but I was looking for your post on the Solex as to what problem you had. No luck, I could not find it. Mine at the moment will idle nicely for about 3 seconds then it is 800rpm 300rpm 1000 rpm etc. This seems similar to yours if I remember. I am waiting for a reply from the States on a new 32 / 36 dgv (manual choke). R1924 plus shipping. I have not been able to find new here on the web. Let me know what was the problem with your Solex and did you manage to fix it.

Hi Ronnie
The guy at Weber in Pta said that based on the Lada engine size etc that a 32/36 would be the best Weber to fit. So you are on the right tack Ronnie.

Hi Ronnie
Are you going to use the standard air filterhousing on the weber?

Hi Charles
To start with yes,I will alter it to suit. One way or another I need to keep it linked to the snorkel.

I think it would be best to keep the standard housing. Also look alot better.
