Hi Danie.
What is the Chance to get the main web page updated to a new page and with current activities on, some new photos, info and contact numbers. The current web page is so part of the old forum which died years ago.
The current forum is going from strengh to strengh and very alive. I think we need a web page that refleck the current status of the Lada in SA.
Also is Kobus still involve as he is very quit the last couple of months.
Regards.

Hi Hercules / Charles
We have a problem getting hold of Kobus - that's why this website and archives have not been updated yet.
As Administrator of this website, only Kobus is able to do any updates.
Hopefully things will be sorted soon.
Regards
Danie

Hi Kobus
Jammer om te hoor van die rekenaar probleme. Ek hoop alles is nou weer op koers.
Several suggestions gas been made by our members regarding updates at the Forum, as well as the Locsa website. It would be nice to see our Locsa banner (designed by Marius) at the Forum , if possible.
The pic at the Locsa Website is also very dated, and we thought it would be nice if our new Locsa Logo (also designed by Marius) ,and if possible, a new pic can be used. Contact details at the website also needs to be updated.
Unfortunately I do not have time to discuss this in more detail at the moment, but I am sure our members will send more details during the day.
Nogmaals baie dankie vir jou tyd en belangstelling in ons bedrywighede.
Groetnis
Danie

Hi Kobus
Welcome back - we were seriously getting worried about you.
It would be very nice if we can update the webpage a bit with a new banner and some new photos as Danie mentioned - nothing major - but it would be in line with the new LOCSA logo.
If we can go ahead I will need the correct dimensions from your with regard to the banner and photos - in order not to alter the original web page design.
Thanks in advance Marius

Hi Kobus
Firstly, I have to thank your efforts over the years in keeping this website going. Without your assistance Locsa surely would have disappeared long ago!
I think many members will pass comments regarding the new website, and maybe it would be helpful if we pass comments under this thread. By doing this, we will have a final product which have been put together by consensus.
As far as the new website is concerned, it will be highly appreciated if you could make the following changes:
1.)Under the "About Us / About Locsa section - Please remove my name and change the second paragraph more or less as follows:
"Was it not for the persistence of a group of owners who are keen to share their knowledge, as well as their Lada experience in general, Locsa would have disappeared into history. So thanks to the sheer dedication of this group, Locsa is alive and well again."
2.) Maybe our Locsa Logo should also be incorporated somehow at the website ?
3.) To my mind a more colorful picture of a Lada should be on display at the home page - this is just a suggestion.
Regards
Danie

Hi Kobus Like Danie I would like to thank you for this effort to make changes to the LOCSA website. I do like the clean look and the main page seems fine to me. About Us Page - I agree with what Danie is saying. Danie has however played an instrumental role in "saving LOCSA" Perhaps something like this as a guideline? LOCSA was formed in 2000 just after the Lada Niva was imported to South Africa by Combined Motor Holdings. Some of the founder members were Willie Vos, Johan van Staden (javs) and Edu de Jager to name but a few. LOCSA started off on a very positive note and quite a few events were organized and the people were really having fun. A successful on-line forum was established but due to excessive spamming the original forum crashed. In 2003 Combined Motor Holdings stopped all imports of the Lada Niva. Due to lack of technical support and reliability issues, many owners sold their Niva's and LOCSA faded away. The Lada Niva was down but not out and many new owners fell in love with this car. One such an owner is Danie Jacobs, was it not for his persistence LOCSA would have disappeared into the history books. Today quite a number of these neglected Niva's are being restored and spare parts are still available from local suppliers who are dedicated in keeping the Niva on our roads. Thanks to the sheer dedication of Danie and others who joined ranks with him in 2009, LOCSA is alive and well again! I can also suggest that you move all the PDF links to the Technical Page. On the Links Page you can definitely ad - www.ladaniva.co.uk/baxter/NivaMainPage.htmI will email you a cleaned up pic of the sticker. Regards Marius

Hi Kobus
I would like to thank you for your efforts in keeping The LOCSA web site running and your efforts to redesign it. I think the new layout is extremely good and is in keeping with the vibrant site that LOCSA has become. Like Marius I think mention should be made in the history of the club regarding the effort Danie played in keeping the club going.
Best Regards
Ronnie

Thanks for the photos so far from Marius, Charles and Ronnie.
Can you please only send photos with the size 640 x 480. This is needed for uniformity as well as space limitation. (Ronnie, yours was the only correct one.). Also my time is limited.
Thanx

Hi Charles
I don`t know how to resize the photos as I have my camera set all the time to take them in the size Kobus requires as it is the correct size for e mails and web sites. I am sure you can resize but I would not know how.
