Hi all Finally got the electricity back on after nearly 2 days - not much fun But more importantly I finally got the chance this week to get the front shock mountings fixed. Basicaly a stronger version of the "Dakar Mod" with 5mm steel instead of the 2mm. I also had the bottom mounting reinforced with a bit of welding on the corners. The left shock mounting was a real mess - completely torn off and the one on the right started to tear. It is actually a very usefull mod to do - those front shock mountings are very iffy and it would not take much to go bust. Regards Marius

Hi Marius That looks nice and strong should last as long as the Lada. I know how you feel with the electricity. A month ago we had 5 days with no water as the plumbers could not fix the pipe so 1200 houses had to chase the tanker all arround Pennington to get some. Imagine comming home from work and you now need to find the tanker. No easy job Ronnie

Hi Marius.
Nice job and the should as long as the Lada. I did mine 5years ago and they still last, even with the gas shocks and the N12 highway is as bad as an average dirt road.
Regards.
