Is there any lada on this board that's NOT a Niva? My son and i bought a lada 2101 yesterday from a 93 years old man. It's almost 25 years old, has 43000 km and is in very good condition. The history is so complete that even the bote ticket from Russia to Antwerp, Belgium is still with the car my son, the car and the seller

Grats Jan. You seem to have all the luck.
Of all the Ladas in SA only about 4 are not Nivas. I think Ventz has a Riva.

I think Jan has a secret cash of pristine Lada's. He should come clean and admit it! Can you find me one?? I had the Fiat 124 which was similar, but yours looks wonderful.
Well done Jan! paulg

My son started polishing the car. Not with any ordinary stuff from the local car partsshop, but with professional stuff and tools. First: removing old durt out of the paint with special clay second: removing small scratches third: bringing back the shine 4th: other stuff for even more shine fifth: wax on, wax off For now only the hood got the treatment. That took 2 hours of work, but the result sure is there!

Again a very nice find!
As Paul said very similar to the Fiat 124. Here in SA the fiat had a hot twin cam motor, Which is where Danie's twin cam engine came from

Seems the new-old Lada is getting some great tender-loving-care ... and is smiling with a shine on the face (or bonnet). I'm impressed with the result. My Dad had a green Fiat 124 when I got my drivers licence some 30 years ago. I wonder what happened to that car after he sold it. Looked a lot like that Lada.

Great find. The 2101 is a direct licensed copy of the Fiat 124.

Absolutely stunning. Now all it needs is a new spare wheel

it needs 4 (5 )new tires, as the rear ones are still original and 25 years old. After winter i'll take care of that
