Hi All
I am just a but concerned about another means of communication (like Facebook) for LOCSA members.
This website is very healthy and "alive" at the moment, but if members start communicating at another media (like Facebook) there is a huge possibility that this website might become less active, and we might face the risk of losing new members, as well as interest in this website.
The previous LOCSA management also started the LadaRsa message board, which was suppose to be a "better" means of communication. To my mind the LadaRsa message board (a second communication medium) was part of the reason why the initial LOCSA eventually fell apart.
Please feel free to air your views in this regard.
Regards
Danie

Danie I dont think you have to be worried about that. I think we might be able to get a few more members thru the group. We are trying to get the forum bigger and stronger. We dont want it to be orphaned again.

Yip the idea is to have as many hooks in the water to get people involved, and attract users and members.

As long as all Lada related communication between members takes place at this Forum I do not have any problem in this regard. Perhaps we should leave this issue in the hands of the Locsa Management to make a decision Regards Danie

I was looking on the website of WegRy earlier and noticed they dont have us listed as a 4x4 group. So I emailed them asking to please put us on the list. I hope that is ok with everybody?

Hi Charles Marius already undertook to inform the Drive Out / WegRy magazine about his / the LOCSA contact details - see previous page of this thread. The LOCSA (stale) details are indeed listed at the above mentioned magazine: www.driveout.co.za/node/2713I think we just need to coordinate our communication with other institutions a bit . They might get different details from different members - which could cause problems, and knock our credibility. Having said that - I remain thankful for all attempts to promote this website. Regards Danie

Hi All.
Personally I feel the same as Danie that all related discussions must take place on the forum. I hardly visit FB and will loose a lot of discussions as if there are any on FB and not the forum. Just to busy to jump around between forums and chat sides.
Regards.

Hi Marius.
The Locsa details on the SA 4X4 Magazine web site is also wrong.
Will you please also send them an e-mail to rectify the contact details of LOCSA.
Regards

Hi, I really don't know what is better and is it possible/impossible the Lada Web in Facebook to dilute the forum in LOCSA. I visit Facebook usually once per 2 weeks and the forum usually once per 2 days.
Ventz
P.S. What about Mr. Mr. Dave Borlase, Stan Bright, Andrew Bezuidenhout - they sold their Ladas long time ago.

" P.S. What about Mr. Mr. Dave Borlase, Stan Bright, Andrew Bezuidenhout - they sold their Ladas long time ago. " Exactly that is why I have asked that their details be removed from the Forum locsa.atspace.com/contact.htmAri

Hi all
With regards to Facebook, Twitter, etc - personally I don't see it as a threat for LOCSA as long as we keep the discussions on this forum. The social networks could be usefull as a tool to advertise LOCSA though and should be used as such and not as an alternative forum.

I think alot of people use Fb to search for a group even before they try google.

As long as the Locsa forum appears "alive" , I don't think there should be any reason for concern. Fact is, nobody backs a dead horse - I have seen that for almost three years at the old LOCSA Forum...... Regards Danie
