Dear Valued LOCSA Member
We, the administrator and moderators of the Lada Owners Club of Southern Africa (LOCSA) forum are sending this email as you are a registered user of the LOCSA forum located at locsa.proboards.com in order to inform you of changes and updates that we have recently made to the forum.
Should you have forgotten your user name and or password to access the forum , please go to the link above and on the logon screen, click the Forgot Password link, you would then be prompted to enter your username or email address (the one on which you received this email) and click the recover button. Should you wish to close your account, please logon to the forum and then edit your profile and in the Privacy tab, right at the bottom is a link to delete your account.
Recently added features include:
• The upgrade of the forum to version 5 of the Proboards software.
• Location information in your mini profile.
• The addition of regional groups for the various regions in South Africa.
The upgrade to version 5 of the software brought about a major overhaul of the forum with numerous new features having been added; refer to this thread for more information: locsa.proboards.com/thread/1628/forum-upgrade-version-5.
Recently we updated the mini profile that displays next to any post that you may make to include your geographic information. This was done at the request of a lot of members and as such we urge you to please update your profile to include this information to make it easier for members to offer physical assistance should the need arise. To update your profile with you location information, follow this link as a guide on how to do so: locsa.proboards.com/thread/1705/location-added-profiles.
More recently we have added the regional boards. These boards are intended for members of specific geographical regions to get together and share information about events in their region. Currently boards have been set up for:
• Eastern Cape (Ari Bezuidenhout)
• Gauteng (Ihar)
• North West (Vacant)
• Mpumalanga (spikes)
• Paarl (butasteve)
Each of the boards is headed up by a forum user, who is also the moderator for that group. Currently the North West group leader position is vacant and we are open to nominations for the group leader position, Marius is not available for nomination. Additional groups can be set up should there be sufficient interest in a group for that region and a forum user is willing to be nominated as the group leader.
To apply to join a group, log onto the forum, click on the link to the Profile link at the top of the page and then click on the groups tab. Scroll down the page until you see the list of the groups and click on the Join Group button for the group you would like to join, then wait for your application to the group to be approved.
Once your application is approved you will have access to that groups forum threads below the normal threads.
Remember that the regional groups are for social related threads only; general maintenance and issues should still be posted to the regular forum threads.
Kind Regards
The LOCSA Administrator and Moderators
