Hi Rooikoos
I would advice you not to buy any gears before seeing and inspecting it properly yourself.
I have learned the hard way, and will pass more comments later today.

Hi Rooikoos Many Ladas which have been stripped are "well used", and have been stripped for a very good reason. Diff maintenance often gets neglected by owners who seem to be unaware of the fact that diff oils needs to be replaced regularly, or that the oil level (front diff) should be checked regularly - if the oil seals are leaking. It could be very risky to buy a complete second hand diff, without having a close look at the inner components (crown wheel-, pinnion gear, bearings, spider gears, oil seals, etc. I bought many components (including a front and rear diff) from a previous Lada owner - about three years ago. The owner assured me that the diffs were in perfect condition . Unfortunately I believed him........ .......just to discover that the only parts which could still be used, were: 1. The front diff housing. 2. One Crown wheel and Pinnion combination. 3. Both sets of Spider gears. Not a single bearing or oil seal could still be used.......... Regards Danie
