Jakob, sorry to hear about all your problems. I think that is the best route to go for now, until you can open it up and clean it all out properly.

HI Jakob.
I'm glad to see you can handle the tool.
Could it be possible that you have a stiff/sticky valve? If it is chewing the cam like that, it would certainly strain the timing chain and gears.
Or maybe the spring on that valve is too stiff? Or, the oil port for that valve could be blocked?
I just find it strange that only one lobe of the cam would be damaged like that.
When we were driving around, I certainly did not hear anything strange on your engine. And it had enough power.
So it just proves again how tough these little engines are.
Your oil changing and flushing plan should keep you going. Missing Karpat is not an option. We need to see pics!
Hope you can keep going.
Regards Spencer

Hi Jakob When I wrote "...the camshaft of 1600 after 180-200,000 km has a wear..." but I didn't mean so excessive wear lile yours!!!! The camshaft of 1700 is better because are made from hardened stainless steel....I hope that you can see the difference. Regards Dimitris

I did just 50 km driving in between... no time :-( Engine feels very good and little stronger than before. Also idle gas changed a lot to good. Please dont missunderstand me. They badly damages cam shaft WAS inside my engine. NOW is a new one inside and this still looks not bad. They old cam shaft was damaged on all lobes except three. Almost the same, all really bad. After opening head we see all velves burned and bad condition. I still wonder that the engine kept on driving for so long. I drive until dead, 600km highway nonstop, than a small pass with 200m and 10km later engine stopped for ever. Before i had to fill in 1 liter water/ 10km . You can imagine the condition of engine Thanks for the pics. Very interesting information! Never hear like that. just only the difference in max. power. If i change to 1700 cma shaft i also have to change the rams- otherwise the will have a short live? greets Jakob
