Conraad we all have to unfortunately drive other cars sometimes but after a whisky or 6 it will all be Lada.

Hi every one, sorry I have not been on the forum in a while. I'm not yet sure if the Niva is happy with it as we only started the engine for the first time yesterday after we had to mod the starter as well. I will keep you guys posted and be posting some more pics in a day or two.

Tnx guys, I am busy with the waterpipes as I don't like the way the mechanic did it. When I am finished with that, there is some small things still to do. Gonna get under her probably on saterday, will then also take pics detailing the mods.

Hi guys My apologies for not having updated this post in a while. So to just update: I had a problem with the temp sensor, but fitted the Lada sensor into the 4y and it works a charm. There is still some vibrations coming from the front, but it's probably only because of the modified engine mountings, I will redesign it and see then. The engine goes like a beaut! 150km/h without a hassle

The propshaft was never removed. Front Diff still there also, was a mission but she is still 4x4.

Sorry Riaan Had your conversion confused with Citfield's one: "Re: Front Diff « Reply #10 on Feb 18, 2013, 10:08pm » It is not a whining noise, it is more of a scratching noise, but only now and then. I can't test if it is the front diff, because the back prop shaft is out of balance, first have to balance that prop, but the noise does sound worst since i have removed the back prop shaft or maybe i am just going crazy .
