The "Code of Conduct" appears below. My thanks to everyone who gave input. The "Code" can and will be revised if required. Note that this thread is locked. The original discussion thread remains open, should any member need to raise issues pertaining to the above "Code"
The "Code" comes onto immediate effect.

The LOCSA Forum is a free service sponsored by Proboards. The information posted, referenced, or linked to within the Forum is not guaranteed, warranted, or represented as complete or accurate.
The LOCSA Moderators reserves the rights to edit or delete any post and the discretion to accept, reject, or ban any Forum participant for any reason.
Any information that you post on the Forum becomes public domain and may be viewed, shared, linked to, referenced in other sources, and otherwise distributed freely. The Forum, being a public-facing information source, provides no expectation of privacy or security.
GUIDELINES FOR USING THE LOCSA FORUM
1. You should have a valid LOCSA Forum account to post in the Forum. You can create this account by registering through the Forum interface. Anonymous names/posts will not be allowed and such posts are subject to deletion.
2. The Forum has several Sub Topics. Make sure that you post into the Sub Topic relevant to your topic. Forum duplication of content across multiple Sub Topics is discouraged.
3. File attachments larger than 1.5MB are not allowed.
4. Describe your question in detail. Our Forum users tend to be technically skilled and the more information you give the better. But it is also important to be brief, as 1000-word dissertations are likely to go unread and unanswered. Try to get your message/question across in less than 12 lines or so.
5. Be civil and polite. Do not use insults, profanity, epithets, or degrading language. The Moderators of this Forum will not tolerate this behaviour. Moderators will try to be pro-active in this regard. (See 8 and 9 below)
6. Do not use the Forum as a way to promote other products, to advertise, to conduct "viral marketing" campaigns, or to otherwise appropriate the Forum for purposes other than what it is intended for, or for the benefit of others or yourself. Users may put a link to their Web site in signature lines or link to relevant reference material in their posts, but users should not make non-related offers.
7. Do not abuse this Forum as a venue to carry on personal grudges or to register complaints and criticisms. Service related complaints and criticisms are allowed, provided that the content is not abusive or insulting.
8. Use the “Report post” option to report posts that you feel, warrants action by the Moderators. This option lets you remain “anonymous” should you prefer it. NOTE the Moderators will see who reported what, but will not divulge names. If a post is reported, it will be deleted by the first moderator to login after the report – if necessary.
9. Continued posting of messages that are contentious and leading to complaints from members, will result in the banning of transgressors. New applications will be scrutinised and evaluated for possible spammers. Should a spammer slip through the net and pester members, immediate banning will result.
The "Code" comes onto immediate effect.
