Hi Shaune Good day
Where did you buy the Release Bearing for your Lada? Can you perhaps provide a Part no? A Friend Urgently needs one.
Kind regards Stephen

No, it was bought from Ventz, about a year ago.
Ari
PS if I lived in a city with bearing man nearby, I would take all my bearings there and ask them to find a local one for each russian one.

That is a lock washer. The new part would be agents only and most probably not available locally as a loose item. You could try Ventz in PMB or otherwise Pavel

Does any one know how to remove that washer, so I can turn the 90 deg bend the other way?

Hi Ari
That type of washer is designed to push in but then the teeth stop you removing it easily. You could try a screwdriver sharpened to a point and slowly work your way around trying to spring it out a bit at a time. Goodness knows if you will manage without distorting the washer. There is no pressure involved so you may be able to remove the plastic barb and tap and screw in a brass one providing there is enough "meat" to do this.

Ari,
if you have the sample one of the specialist shops doing automotive/hardware "fasteners" in PE should be able so supply that type of lock washer. For the life of me I cannot think of the correct name for the type of lock washer

Hi Spikes and Ari
All of these washers depend on a bolt to lock them. The ones you are looking for depend on the outer edge gripping the outside of the recess and the teeth then stop it being pulled back out.

Hi Ari and Spikes
What you are looking for is Spire washers. I see plenty on the internet but they are all internal, and you are looking for external.

Thanks, so its going to be easier to bend the metal line away.
Would it be possible to turn the 90 deg bend with the washer in place?

First consideration is, is it plastic or metal and even then at risk of breaking it, I would not try.

Hi Ari I agree with Steve, do not try to turn it as you will no doubt break the plastic union. Why do you want to turn it anyway? Ronnie

The horizontal section of bend is interfering with the hard metal pipe from the clutch master cylinder to the slave.
Its plastic.

Ari, can you add a spacer washer when you attached it and thus change the angle of it?

Not really Steve, I'll have to reroute the hard pipe. How do you bend the hard clutch lin without breaking it?

HI Guys. Working on Boris this weekend, we just realized that when ever you do a clutch, you have to do the thrust ring as well. They seem to always be broken. One tip: when replacing the bell housing, use some grease to "glue" the trust washer in position. Just a little is enough to momentarily stick the ring in it's position while you carefully slide the bell housing into place. And you can't put it on the gearbox side as it will be out of position by the time you get the bell housing on. Even with laparoscopic surgical tools it can be somewhat interesting. Yes, gravity sucks, I know. Remember to elevate the input side of the gearbox about 15cm when placing it on the table or floor. When the gearbox is filled with oil, it will leak past the gear lever rubber when in a vertical position, and will pour out the front when left horizontally. Regards Spencer
