Nice pics Conrad, am sure the guys in Durban and surrounds will enjoy the venue.
For the water, you could allways have gone thru 3 times, 1 to drop your wife off, 2 to reverse back and 3rd for the photos. Or alternatively send the inferior 4x4 through first.

The BF Goodriches look great. Did you have any problems with them hitting the wheel arches?

Hi Conrad
I have been at the recent KZN 4x4 Challenge at the Killarney track - an excellent trail where the guys who find themselves in the Durban area can play with their Ladas !
The facilities are excellent, and the scenery is beautiful. The swimming pool will also help to cool things down on a very hot day. ;D

Hi Darryn,
Yes the fronts catch the inside of the wheel arch near the firewall at full lock, and the rears rub against the coil springs at full articulation. During every day driving they don't give any hassles, its only during extreme off road and parking maneuvers that they catch.
The jury is still out on whether they will cause premature wheel bearing or steering box failure though.
Danie, if we ever have a Durban get together I think this should definitely be the venue. You cant beat the facilities, place to play with your cars and place to braai and relax by the pool when your done. It doesn't get better than that.

If anyone needs directions to the Killarney 4 x 4 track, here it comes:
From Durban, take the N3 , go through Marion Hill Toll Plaza, and turn off at the Shongweni / Hill Crest / Assay off-ramp. (From Pinetown the old highway can also be used up Fields Hill - also turn left at the Shongweni / Hill Crest / Assagay off-ramp)
At the top, turn left.
Followthe road straight on, pass Shongweni Dam, and follow the road down into the valley.
Just past Stone haven Castle, turn right - where you will find the first " Shongweni 4 x 4 " sign post.
Drive up the hill for about 2km - then turn left at the gravel road at the next sign post.
Just follow the sign posts to the camping site.
The track / camping site is about 12km from the freeway.
Conrad, do you have any info about the normal entrance fee ? I think it might be different from the fee which I have paid at the 4 x 4 Challenge event.

Its a great place to visit and lots of fun. Since the numbers of Niva's in Kzn are picking up, I think its time we start thinking of a group get together
