Actually contemplating removing mine.
Not a big fan of plastic trimmings, and mine has become a bit brittle on the edges and every time the wheels touch during heavy oscillation they break on the rivets.
But will still see.

Hi Koos
I agree with you - it is usually more of a pain than anything else. They can also be rust magnets.

Vincent and I were at Chris Swales today, as he needed a ball joint. Interestingly, the new one was made by Quinton Hazel a very large original equipment and after market supplier. I tried to access their catalog on line but it was too complicated for me. Perhaps some one can check as they make a very large no of car parts. Ronnie anyone have a part number for the ball joint? we have a QH dealer here, but they always deny that they have any parts to fit the Lada...

Hi all Apparently Glasfit do have windscreens specific for Ladas, or so they say... On my little trip they were working on the N7; lots of loose pebbles + big ass truck at 110kph = not so pretty windscreen. Luckily I included windows in my insurance, so will see what happens. Regards Koos

Hi Stephen I've spend 12 years of my life in Malmesbury and we used to travel around the West Coast frequently. My mouth is watering for some real crayfish and all the fresh snoek and all the great "cheap" wines Paarl is just oor die berg - I better stop now because I am getting flashbacks from all the great lunches at Fairview. PS: great to find so much help from the other side of the planet! It's not possible to find everything in one place, so finding this forum has been a great addition to the info more close to home (i.e. the brilliant lada.co.uk)

Glad you managed to get the right part. If you get a barcode number, I can look up the QH part number which may help with sourcing another part.

Gents - Did anyone actually fit one of these QH ball joints? I bought one and there is NO WAY it will fit my Niva. It doesn't sit as low as the original and the CV can't even make it over the head of the ball... Part number on my box is: QSJ768S Ball Joint - Lower

Vincent fitted one to his Niva and there was no problem. I am sure he will confirm the part no when he is on line.

Thanks Ronnie, Glad to hear that it fit, I'm on my way back to the shop now to try to exchange them. If you look closely at the linked image, the QH catalog clearly lists different numbers for UPPER and LOWER. Since the one I was replacing was a lower joint, I bought the QSJ768
I'll be sure to let you know what the difference is when I see them side by side.
