Hi I find myself in the Durban area, and I bought my Lada four years ago with 97 000 km on the clock. My Lada is a 2000 model 1.7, (carborator model) and has done more than 65000 km since date of purchase.
I do most of the services and repairs on my Lada myself, and discovered that Ladas are very easy to work on . They are very basic cars - definately not high tech .
I do respect my Lada for what it is - a very basic SUV - and I am not interested in competing with more expensive 4 x 4's on off road tracks at all.
I like visiting the Southern Drakensberg area with my Lada quite often, and went up Sani Pass twice.
I recently started stripping my Lada's body completely - in order to get rid of a couple of rust spots - I hope to get the little beast back on the road as soon as possible.
I hearby include pics which has been taken in the Sani pass area.
Regards
Danie

Hello everyone, I have a Lada 5 speed gearbox for sale. It has been overhauled by Centurion Gearbox&Diff, with brand new bearings(SKF) also with the deal I will trough in 124 gearbox (stripped) used some of the spares to rebuilt the Lada's box. Fair price of R5000-00 is not much compare of what other people charge. Also with this lot is a Lada doughnut coupling, had it flown in from Pietrmaritzburg to Mozambique to get mobile again on my way back to S.A. Bonus with gearbox purchase is a steering box as well. Please let me know if anyone is interested. eugene@liquidauto.co.za Cell - 083 297 4880

Hi Eugene - welcome !
It will really be nice to hear about your Mosambique experience !
Any possibility of sending a few pics of the trip ? Where do you find yourself ?
Would you be willing to sell the doughnut coupling separately ? If so, I would appreciate details about price and condition - I might be interested.
Regards
